High Performance Louvers

Our unique patented louvers shield AND direct lamp output to achieve a low-brightness appearance with maximum coverage. They are more efficient than standard parabolic louvers and deliver more candlepower near the cut-off angle. This results in higher ambient light levels and better uniformity where ceilings are low or workstations are widely spaced.

tambient low-brightness louvers are made of durable polycarbonate and have a high-performance specular metalized finish. A clear polymer topcoat protects the finish and makes them easy to clean.

Lamp Distribution Modifier (LDM)

A Lamp Distribution Modifier (LDM) is included in all Series L200 task ambient luminaires with “low-mount” or “mid-mount” optics and in all Series P200 task lights. This patent pending device eliminates excessive luminance on the adjacent workstation panel to improve luminance uniformity and enhance visual comfort.

Twin-Tube Optics

Our Style L207 and Style L208 luminaires feature a unique (patent pending) split aperture that achieves comfortable workstation luminance distributions using a 40-watt compact fluorescent lamp. The result is effective task lighting and as much uplight as a 6-ft T5 luminaire from a single 2-ft unit.  

Batwing Lens

Without proper shielding, task lights can cause veiling reflections that compromise visibility by reducing task contrast. Veiling reflections can reduce worker productivity and cause discomfort (headaches). tambient task and task ambient luminaires incorporate linear prismatic "batwing" lenses to substantially reduce veiling reflections for normal task positions. These lenses redirect offending light rays so they strike the task at an angle to the normal sightline.

 

Contoured Bottom Closure

The grooves on the bottom of our workstation luminaires are part of an advanced task lighting system. This unique (patent pending) feature enhances the interaction of light between the work surface and the privacy panel in front of the user. It also reduces undesirable reflections that can reduce task focus. The result is a more comfortable micro-environment that utilizes luminaire output more efficiently.

 

Integral Cord Management

tambient’s mounting slot accepts a wide range of mounting brackets and provides for concealed cord management. Cords can be routed horizontally in the slot without interfering with the mounting accessories. (Patent pending)
