In honor of our founder, asymmetric lighting innovator Sylvan R. Shemitz, The Lighting Quotient has established a student scholarship in partnership with the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). Intended for the future generation of lighting designers, engineers and architects, all second through fifth year undergraduate and graduate students in accredited design degree programs are eligible to apply. The scholarship will be awarded annually to one student who demonstrates creativity, vision and knowledge in the field of architectural lighting.
Entrants must complete the specific requirements of the assigned lighting project which include preparing a lighting plan, fixture schedule with specifications and a 250 word statement of the goals and objectives of the design concept.
Entries will be judged by a panel composed of three IES members and two Applications Engineers from The Lighting Quotient.
