elliptipar Building Information Modeling (Revit) files
The Lighting Quotient is in the process of developing a full library of Revit BIM objects. Files currently available for ellpitipar product are posted below. If you need a file that is not shown, contact us and we will do our best to supply it.
READ THESE NOTES BEFORE DOWNLOADING FILES.
Each of our catalog pages will correspond to one Revit Family File (.rfa). We are developing our Revit Files to include all the options for that specific catalog page. The Types Catalog (.txt) must be loaded in order to get the appropriate luminaire options and their parameter settings. We recommend that you keep both the .rfa and .txt files in the same folder/subdirectory on your hard drive. When you load a luminaire into your project file (.rvt), the Types Catalog will appear on your screen. This will allow you to choose lamp, length and mounting options. Selecting only the Types you need will save you from having to manually change most parameters and will generate a smaller project file.
SIMPLE files are smaller and contain all the information included in the RENDER files, except photometry. Use this smaller file unless you intend to do electric lighting renderings.
RENDER files are larger because photometry is included. Do not be alarmed if the orientation of a photometric web preview appears different than expected (an issue with the Revit program). The included photometry is correctly positioned relative to each luminaire, and rendered results will reflect the appropriate light distribution.
A REFLECTOR TILT parameter is included in all of our Revit Family Files for adjustable luminaires. This parameter allows you to adjust the reflector and photometry without rotating the mounting hardware. To access this parameter, while working in a project file .rvt, select the fixture and click on Modify Lighting Fixtures −› Element −› Element Properties −› Type Properties. This feature offers more precise aiming of fixtures and better electric lighting renderings. Some Files have Reflector Tilt Limits to prevent incorrect positioning of reflector rotations. In some instances the Reflector tilt is set at 90° rather than 0° to accommodate certain mounting options.
FIXTURE FINISH and PENDANT/CANTILEVER length parameters may also be changed manually using the steps outlined above. Refer to the product catalog sheets for maximum available lengths.
To keep the files sizes reasonable, Revit Family Files represent simplified fixture models that do not include all hardware. Click on the product photos below to link to the catalog pages for specification details.
